Sometimes we have over a thousand ideas to fill into just a square meter of land.
Yet we try to hold on to where our heart really lies; the Verziere.
A verziere is a garden in which wild flowers, vegetables and orchards play the leading role. They are the vivid centre of our property, just over one acre, between the forest and sea in Trieste.
Around the cottage style verziere you’ll find the terraces with the Rosarium, the Herb garden, and meadows. You enter the gardens either through the Stumpery or the Vineyard.
Maybe you love flowers and plants just as much as we do, or you love to cook and are curious about our heirloom and forgotten fruits and vegetables.

The garden provides lots of food goodies and beauty, and we have plenty to share. That’s why we initiated “grow with us” this year.
We ask you to make a small investment in advance to help us grow for you.
For this we will deliver you something surprising, delightful, or pretty (your choice) from our garden up to twenty times in 2023.
This could include delicious heirloom tomatoes or a beautiful bunch of flowers, fresh from our picking garden, fragrant herbs, seasonal fruits, or even special seed varieties or plants.
This year there is room for ten participants.

As botanical designers and master florists we are eager to share our knowledge and skills with you.
Learn how to create and design a vegetable or cut flower garden, how to make a beautiful Christmas wreath or a colorful flower bouquet.
Join a cooking class with vegetables, fruits and herbs straight out of our garden.
More specific skills such as Dry-stone-walling, tree cutting and wood chopping are in our future program.

Every season the garden dresses differently and a specific plant or flower steals the show.
On the ‘Open Garden’ Days we unlock the gates to welcome you in our garden. Our garden is a private and intimate place. It requires respect for the work done and the hospitality offered. You can check our garden guidelines here.
We will guide you around and explain all the in’s and out’s of the garden and the floral highlights of the moment.
